Surrounded by a landscape of contrasts, Forfar boasts stunning views of rolling farmland and the grand heights of the Angus Glens.

This traditional market town is known for its colourful history, having once been the seat of Scotland’s King Malcolm Canmore. It was also one of the major manufacturing centres of linen and jute. At its height, the Dundee area boasted 60 jute mills and more than 15,000 workers.

Easily accessible from both Dundee and Aberdeen via the A90, Forfar is ideal for commuters and families wanting to stay connected to major hubs. For those looking to stay local, Glenview is walking distance to a huge range of local amenities such as bakeries, butchers and supermarkets, it’s the ideal location to purchase your dream home.

Scotland's Larder

Whether it’s a comforting pub lunch or outstanding fine dining you’re after, there’s something for everyone within Forfar.

On the second Saturday of every month, Forfar hosts the Angus Farmers Market. Take a wander into town and buy delicious local food from a wide variety of producers from all over Tayside, including delicious soft fruit, organic vegetables and local cheeses.

Time for a Tipple

Relax and experience some of the finest spirits and drinks the area has to offer.

If you’re more of a gin lover, then you’ll be spoilt for choice with a tasting experience at the award-winning Gin Bothy nestled in the historic village of Glamis.

Beer drinkers are also well catered for at Angus Brewfest. Now in its fifth year, the annual event is a celebration of Scottish Brewers.
