Christmas Traditions

Buying a house is just the beginning of your story… A home is where memories are made and traditions are started.

Hear from Scotia customers as they share their favourite Christmas traditions 🎄

Hear from Scotia customer Elle, or as you may know ther @the_mac_home

“My Christmas tradition is always having a cosy evening on Christmas Eve with new pyjamas, cheese and crackers and Love actually... my favourite Christmas film! Then on Christmas Day it is always spent visiting my family, it’s really just what Christmas is all about”

Hear from Scotia Customers Troy &, or as you may know them @thebrucestories on what they're looking forward to this Christmas.

“Christmas 2020 - A year of new traditions for us, our first Christmas as Mummy and Daddy. A Christmas we will remember forever, with traditions we hope to continue as we grow as a family. Our very first tradition for this year is a Christmas Eve box for our beautiful Breanna, filled with story books and Christmas pyjamas. Christmas is such a special time, and 2020 will be the best Christmas we could ever ask for.”

We hear from Scotia customers Lynsey & Dan, or as you may know them @homeonthebrae who share some of the exciting things they enjoy over the festives.

“We both absolutely love Christmas and our tradition is our version of ‘Christmas Tree Day’. We play classic Christmas tunes, I make my famous mulled wine and we decorate the tree together - then we’ll order Chinese and watch Elf! Its usually our last day alone together before all the Christmas chaos takes over and with the exception of Christmas Day itself, it’s definitely our favourite day of the year!”

Next up is Scotia customers Chloe & Stuart, or as you may know them @homeatnumberseven_ on what they're looking forward to this Christmas.

“We are Chloe and Stuart and we moved in together in March 2020 (4 days into lockdown!). Since then, we’ve both been working from home together - while it’s been tough, we’ve loved having the opportunity to spend all this time together. As this is our first Christmas, we don’t have any traditions but have started making some this year.

One tradition we have started as a result of the pandemic is making a Christmas pudding remotely with our extended family. My auntie delivered all the ingredients to each house and we got together virtually and made Christmas puddings. We keep each other updated for the weekly “feedings” of the puddings. Next year we will do it in person!

Stuart’s family usually has a big Christmas (14 of them), and his dad makes the best Christmas ham ever! So this year as we can’t be together, his dad is preparing the hams and we are going for a “ham-present-swap-walk”. Christmas Day will be spent in our matching pyjamas, eating lovely food, watching whatever rubbish is on tv and chilling out after a long and stressful year!”
