Hazelwood, Blairgowrie Public Consultation

This proposed residential development, together with associated infrastructure and landscaping is located 220 metres south west of the entrance to Maple Place. The site is allocated as H64 in the 2019 Perth and Kinross Local Development Plan.

The plans will create a high quality residential development, including terraced, semi-detached and detached house types, which will contribute positively to the creation of a sense of place. Key feature house types have been added at corner plots to enhance the outlook over public areas, thereby creating a welcoming and safe environment for all users of the development.

The site plan which has been prepared contains an attractive corridor of open space, focussed on an existing watercourse, which runs through the development. This combined with the generous landscaping which is proposed on the frontage alongside Elm Drive will create a very attractive setting for the housing.

The design builds on the previously approved layout and enhances the footpath links in the area by creating new accessible routes from the existing housing surrounding the development to the Community Campus, for people travelling from the south, east and west.

A Proposal of Application Notice was submitted to the Council on 6 th August 2020 (ref 20/00007/PAN).

Consultation Events - Thursday 22nd October

As part of the pre-application process, Scotia Homes is required to carry out public consultation. Ordinarily, this would take the form of a public meeting, in a local hall or hotel, however due to current government restrictions, as a consequence of the Coronavirus crisis, it is necessary for this consultation event to be conducted online via the internet. Scotia Homes therefore invite you to engage in an online public consultation exercise to provide you with information and to seek your views on the forthcoming major planning application.

The relevant development information has been made available on the 19th October 2020, and views and comments on this are welcomed until 9th November 2020. Comments may be made via the online comment form, via email or in writing to the address given below.

In addition two actual consultation events will take place, which will take the form of interactive sessions on the website on the 22nd October 2020. The first will be between 2pm – 4pm and the second between 7pm – 9pm. This latter session has been timed to coincide with a Community Council meeting. During these times development team representatives will be available to answer questions and respond to requests for clarification, via a Zoom link on the website. All feedback from the interactive sessions will be responded to directly within 7 days, with a further 48 hours permitted for any further comments from the public.
