Scotia Homes laced up their walking boots and donned their tartan best to take part in this year’s Kiltwalk Aberdeen, raising vital funds for Friends of Anchor, a local charity dedicated to supporting cancer and haematology patients in the North-east of Scotland.
The team spirit was high and the skies were clear as Scotia Homes joined thousands of enthusiastic walkers at the starting line. With the sun casting a golden glow over the Granite City, it felt like the perfect day for a scenic stroll. Spirits were buoyant, and the early miles flew by as everyone soaked in the camaraderie, the music, and the stunning local scenery.
But, true to Scottish form, the weather didn’t stay cooperative for long. Before the walkers knew it, they were experiencing all four seasons in a single day — sunshine gave way to gusty winds, a few surprise hailstones, a soaking rain shower, and even an impressive display of thunder and lightning. Yet, not even the wild weather could dampen the determination of the Scotia Homes team. Armed with waterproofs, big smiles, and sheer grit, they powered through.
A huge part of what kept everyone going was the incredible support along the way. Arnold Clark played a key role in making the day a success, helping to bring the event to life and ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Meanwhile, Lidl was the real hero on the route - their refreshment stations were a sight for sore eyes (and tired legs). With free snacks, fruit, and drinks on offer throughout the course, they gave everyone a well-timed morale boost just when it was needed most.
All funds raised by the Scotia Homes team will go directly to Friends of Anchor, supporting their invaluable work providing care, comfort, and emotional support to patients undergoing treatment in the region.
The Kiltwalk Aberdeen wasn’t just a test of endurance, it was a celebration of community, resilience, and compassion. And for Scotia Homes, it was a meaningful way to give back and show support for a cause close to many hearts.
With sore feet but full hearts, the team crossed the finish line knowing they had made a real difference, and already talking about doing it all over again next year.
