Tarves Electrician raises funds for BreakthroughT1D

10th Apr, 2025

Sam Robertson, electrician at the Willowburn development in Tarves, is raising funds for BreakthroughT1D.

BreakthroughT1D are a type 1 diabetes charity and is close to Sam's family as his little cousin got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was just 4 years old (now 12) and they have helped her massively and are actively trying to find a cure for diabetes.

Sam is well underway in his preparations to run the Edinburgh marathon on 25th May in his attempt to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.

Sam spoke with the marketing team:

"I am running the Edinburgh marathon on 25th May for Breakthrough T1D as they do a lot of great work for my 12 year old cousin who has Type 1 Diabetes.

"My cousin was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 4 and every day has been and is tough for her to keep on top of her blood sugar levels. It restricts what food she can have and also her daily activities etc by always having to be mindful of her blood sugar levels.

"I am raising the money for Breakthrough T1D to help them move towards a cure to not only help my cousin but also everyone around the world who suffers with diabetes every day."
