Sunday 23 April saw Brechin Golf Club host Rotary Club of Brechin for their annual charity event, raising funds for MND Scotland.

Building in the area, it’s key to support local and engage with the community.

Scotia office and site-based staff came together to enjoy a windy 18-hole round of golf on the fantastic parkland course, with its clubhouse a short distance from the A90. Craig Brown, Senior Buyer, Matthew Killicoat, Senior Quantity Surveyor and Jim Lawrence, Brechin West Site Manager, represented Team Scotia with the aim to give back to the city and give locals first-hand insight into the product being built in their city.

Golfers on the day were welcomed to the clubhouse to enjoy tea and coffee with a bacon roll before teeing off in their teams of 3. With opportunities to win prizes round the course, golfers had a fun-filled afternoon raising money and awareness of MND Scotland.

Being in the community and understanding the importance of the day to locals and avid golfers is part of Scotia’s vision of creating great places to live.

Raising funds for MND Scotland is of key significance in the Brechin community, after the disease claimed the life of 42 year old Aaron Souttar last summer. The popular figure was a Brechin Golf Club champion from a well-known sporting family. The day raised over £40K for the charity - well done all!
