Scotia Employee Fundraises for Marie Curie

1st May, 2025

Scotia employee continues fundraising efforts for 10th consecutive year for Marie Curie in honor of late mum.

Angela Forsyth, along with a group of her friends and family, are hosting a fundraising event to raise funds for Marie Curie.

Angela speaks of her connection to Marie Curie and the fundraising completed thus far:

"Unfortunately, almost 10 years ago my mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumour and sadly passed away just 12 weeks after diagnosis.

"In the final days of her life we relied on the support of Marie Curie nurses to allow mum to stay at home, and was shocked to learn that they are charity based and rely on donations to be able to continue.

"Since mums passing, each year I have arranged a tea party which turned into takeaway afternoon teas during and after Covid, with last years orders amounting to 250 afternoon teas over a weekend.

"The total that we have raised and donated to the charity during the 9 years is over £40,000 which is a huge amount.

"As this year will be our 10th of fundraising I wanted to try something on a larger scale and try to raise even more for this worthwhile charity.

"We are organising a ladies day on 10th May 2024 at Strichen, which will include food, entertainment and games for approximately 170 ladies, with raffles and lucky square sales to help boost the total raised."

Unfortunately the event is already sold out (well done Angela) however there are other ways to get involved.

Are you in a position to support Angela's fundraising efforts?

To attract more donations, Angela is looking for even more great prizes, donations or any other support you can offer.

Lucky squares are also available for £5 per square for a chance to win a £600 travel agent voucher, along with a small carry on case full of goodies, and another for a Power Drill and a malt whisky bundle both of which will be for sale up until Saturday 10th May.

A silent auction is also live and available to view here with items including a Four Ball at Meldrum House golf Course, Nintendo Switch Lite Blue, afternoon tea at The Fife Arms Turriff and more.
