9th Mar, 2023We celebrate Scottish Apprenticeship Week by launching the applications process for this years' candidates.
An apprenticeship is a chance for you to shape your future career. Whether you are at school, changing career path or simply wanting to try something different, there is an apprenticeship for you.
Since 1997, over 103 apprentices have walked through the Scotia door and over 21% of those are still with us today as fully qualified individuals with years of experience.
Completing an apprenticeship with Scotia Homes provides real-life industry experience, improves employability and allows you to earn while you learn.
An apprenticeship with Scotia lasts four years, where you can work on our sites learning and applying your new skills. We’ll appoint a dedicated mentor and career supervisor, and you will attain an industry-accredited qualification at the end of your apprenticeship.
Scotia will give you all the encouragement, education and training you need to progress with your career.
During your apprenticeship, you will receive a weekly wage increased annually, 29 days holidays, tools and PPE, a nationally recognised qualification and a mixture of college and 'hands on' learning.
A Scotia apprenticeship can lead to long term career/employment in your chosen trade. Examples of individuals who have 10+ years' service since their apprenticeship are:
- Stuart Turner, Joiner ( 25+ years’ service)
- Alan Gerrie, Plumber (19 years’ service)
- Scott Miller, Joiner (18 years’ service)
- Craig Dey, Plumber (15 years’ service)
- Frazer Lawrence, Bricklayer (14 years’ service)
- Kyle Richard, Joiner (10 years’ service)
- Stuart Stephen, Plumber (10 years’ service)

Earn while you learn with your first job in construction
