Scotia Homes are delighted to have unanimously secured planning approval of an exciting development of 102 new homes in St Andrews.
The development includes 10 bungalows, 16 terraced and semi-detached houses, and the balance being a varied mix of 1-4 bed flats and apartments. Scotia are looking to appeal to prospective buyers of all levels of the market and will support delivery of 30% affordable homes.
A new urban park has also been proposed to meet the requirement for a landscape buffer to protect the setting of the listed buildings. This new urban park will be a significant qualitative improvement which will be available to new and existing residents.
The site is well connected with St Andrews having various existing amenities and services, the development is conveniently located to take advantage of these. St Andrews town centre is only a 20-minute walk, and the site sits within a wider area of strong pedestrian and public transport connections.
Commenting on the proposals, Martin Forbes Land & Planning Manager at Scotia Homes said:
“We are absolutely delighted that the application has been approved by North East Planning Committee and would like to thank everyone for their support. Alongside our development partner Scotsman Developments, we look forward to our residential element assisting bring back into use the vacant former Madras College site.
“The development will create substantial inward investment to the area as well as creating significant employment opportunities and support apprenticeship roles during the construction phase.
“We anticipate development will commence later this year, with completion currently programmed during 2026.”
